After Josh Rosen inexplicably fell to number ten, the Arizona Cardinals pulled the trigger, sending their first round pick, along with their 79th and 152nd picks to the Oakland Raiders to move into the top ten and grab their quarterback, Josh Rosen.
The Arizona Cardinals Have Selected Josh Rosen
Josh Rosen has always played with a chip on his shoulder. He wasn’t the number one quarterback coming out of high school, he wasn’t number one in Heisman voting, and he hasn’t been the number one quarterback in this draft. Watching the likes of Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield get taken before him will stick with him for the rest of his career.
Just like the man many compared him to, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Rosen had to watch less talented quarterbacks leave the board before him, and he’s headed to a wild NFC West with all the ammunition in the world. The Cardinals have found their quarterback of the future, and the best quarterback they’ve had since Kurt Warner retired, and this will be a day many people look back on and remember, for better or for worse.
Rosen has everything you could ask for in a quarterback prospect. He’s got ideal size, a good arm, and adequate athleticism. It would be nice to see him put on a little bit of muscle, but the Arizona Cardinals played the long game, and might’ve come away with the best quarterback in the draft.
